Pundit Mahesh Shastriji has been a practicing Vedic priest and Panchangakarta since the 1990s. He was inspired by his grandfather Pundit Maganlal Shastriji, a renowned Jyotishi from Gujarat, India, who spent his entire life in the service of Dharma and the community: never charging a fee to those who could not afford it.
Carrying that tradition forward, Pundit Mahesh established mypanchang.com in 2006 from the Greater Seattle area, Washington State, USA: with the sole mission of providing accurate, free Panchang data and festival information to Hindu temples and communities worldwide, especially those outside India who cannot use calendars printed in India.
He holds deep expertise in both the ancient Shastra texts and modern astronomical computation. The site uses NASA JPL ephemeris data, combined with rules from Dharmashastra, to produce location-correct Panchang and festival dates for over 350 cities globally.
Pundit Mahesh Shastriji provides Panchang services (both print and digital) to numerous temples across North America, Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia. Most temples outside India rely on mypanchang.com for their annual calendar and festival dates.
He conducts regular Satsangs and educational workshops on Vedic sciences, Jyotisha, and Dharmashastra. He is also the primary author of the educational articles on mypanchang.com explaining the differences between Panchang systems and how festival dates are determined location-by-location.
His work is entirely devotional and community-oriented. Pundit Mahesh does not monetize the service and relies on community support to keep mypanchang.com running.
