Surya Sankramana Dates 2026

Surya Sankramana marks the monthly transit of the Sun (Surya) from one zodiac sign (rashi) to the next. It is considered an auspicious time for bathing, charity, and prayers. Punyakala (auspicious window) is observed around the time of solar ingress. The annual Makara Sankranti (Sun entering Capricorn) is the most celebrated, but all 12 monthly transits are observed. The Sun completes its journey through all 12 signs in approximately one year.
